Progressive Metal Pack

Progressive Metal Pack

Take your Boss Katana MKII into modern metal territory with a collection of 5 powerful Progressive Metal patches, designed for tight rhythms, huge gain and smooth, singing leads.

Unlike traditional Katana patches, these tones are designed with the Katana cabinet bypassed, allowing you to use third-party Impulse Responses (IRs) for a completely different level of depth, definition and realism.

The demo tones were created using ML Sound Lab IRs, including Freeman and Mesa-style cabinets.

What’s Included

• Got Balls – Tight, aggressive rhythm tone with massive modern gain.
• Sanctuary I – Heavy and punchy with excellent clarity and definition.
• Sanctuary II – More gain and sustain for bigger modern metal tones.
• Got Soul – Melodic lead tone with fluid sustain and articulation.
• Soft Lead – Smooth, warm and singing lead tone.

Third-Party IR Ready

The Katana cabinet is bypassed so you can load your preferred IRs using an external IR loader.

You can use premium IRs such as ML Sound Lab, or experiment with your own collection. Free IRs can also be used, making it easy to get started without purchasing additional cabinet packs.

Built for Modern Metal

These patches are ideal for Progressive Metal, Modern Metal, Djent and high-gain recording, giving your Katana MKII a completely different character from its traditional cabinet tones.

No post-processing was added to the guitar tones.

Turn it up, load your favorite IR and discover just how far the Boss Katana MKII can go.

I have a video explaining how it’s done HERE

Fairly simple and it’s also possible to do it on the MKI.

For the demos I used the NadIR IR Loader by STL Tones.

The ones on the video demo are from ML Sound Lab.

I’m using the Freeman and Mesa Packs.

But… You can also use FREE impulse responses!!!
