The TONEX Board is finally in the studio, and for this video I decided to do something simple: start with a completely blank preset and build my first TONEX Board preset from scratch.
No pre-made setup, no shortcuts — just going through the process step by step and seeing what I could get out of the unit.
Building a TONEX Board Preset From Scratch
In the video, I take you through the complete process of creating the preset, choosing the tones, setting up the effects and adjusting everything until I have a practical, playable setup.
For me, this is always one of the best ways to learn a new piece of gear. Rather than simply loading existing presets, starting from scratch lets you understand how everything interacts and, most importantly, how quickly you can get to the sound you want.
The TONEX Board combines IK Multimedia’s Tone Model technology with a complete pedalboard-style workflow, so there’s a lot more to explore than simply loading a Tone Model.
This was my first proper attempt at building a complete preset on the Board, and I wanted to capture the whole process rather than just show the finished result.
