My New Fractal AM4 Night Work Corner

I’ve been reorganising a small corner of the studio to create a more relaxed setup for working at night, and this is where the Fractal Audio AM4 will now live.

The idea is simple: a compact workspace where I can sit down with the MacBook, grab a guitar and start building or tweaking tones without having to fire up the main studio setup every time.

The AM4 sits right in front of me, with a pair of IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII monitors handling playback. It gives me a complete little working environment for preset design, testing ideas, editing tones and simply playing when I want something more casual and immediate.

My FM9 still has its permanent place on the larger studio desk, where I do most of the main recording, production and more complex Fractal work. This new corner isn’t replacing that setup at all — it’s really an additional creative space built around the AM4.

Sometimes a smaller setup makes you want to play and experiment more, simply because everything is already there and ready to go.

And yes… fitting everything into this corner was much tighter than it looks. 😂
